Requires: 100g of wool, & knitting needles bigger than the size normally used for that wool, in order to make the scarf lacey and soft. For the scarf pictured, we used aran weight yarn, and 6.5mm needles. Instructions are given for the scarf size pictured.
Glossary:
- s2k2tog = slip 2 stitches knitwise from left to right needle, individually, then knit those 2 stitches together.
- yo2 = bring the yarn forward twice, i.e., bring the yarn forward, then wrap it round the right hand needle again.
To make the scarf:Using 6-7 mm needles, cast on a multiple of 4 stitches: we used 32 stitches for the long, narrow scarf pictured.
Work 4 rows in garter stitch, i.e. knit every row.
Then continue in pattern until the scarf is as long as you require.
